In today’s electronics world the devices are getting smaller
and smaller. The Raspberry Pi 2 is a prime example. A Raspberry Pi 2 is a
replacement to regular servers that is being used to replace computers. The
Raspberry Pi 2 has a lot of feature such as being small, Price, and a large developer’s
base. Which is causing this device to be in the middle of conversation in technology
talk.
First is their size, coming in at about 4 by 2 inches. By this
it makes the Raspberry PI 2 one of the smallest computers you can get. It also
makes this device very portable, like a smart phone but smaller. The size also
gives this device its disadvantages. With the device being so small it limits
the accessories you can have on it. Such as a source of memory, and a headphone
jack, only giving the device a driver to attach memory to it. Luckily the
creator thought about the accessory issue. They added a 20 pin hookup to allow
other boards to connect allowing customization and performance improvements.
Second is Price, with the Raspberry Pi being set at such a
low price of $35. Meaning that this is officially the cheapest computer you can
buy. This isn't any rinky dink computer either with the specs being 1 Gig of
ram and an A7 processor. This device can handle quite a bit, from security to
calculations. Most would look at those specs and reply with “That sucks!”, but I
reply with “You are closed minded”. I say this for the reason that for 35
dollars you can buy 20 of these raspberry Pis for less than you can get a
regular computer for. When you connect those together you will have 20
gigabytes worth of Ram and the processing power of more than 3 computers making
the computer a super computer.
Next is all the developers for this single device. Having
developers is very important, meaning you don’t have to know a single thing
about coding or a single bit about the device your device; because you have
thousands upon thousands of people who do. These developer code for fun making this
minicomputer compatible with almost everything and does almost anything. If at any
time you get stuck, post it upon the millions of forum boards and within
seconds you will have a reply with how to fix your problem and continue
working.
With electronics getting smaller and smaller you will not go
wrong picking a Raspberry Pi. The possibilities are endless as you can see. It
all because the Raspberry Pi 2 is small, cheap, and with a large developer’s
base.
